FORMER DIRECTOR is an independent design studio founded in Toronto and currently based in Montréal. Our brand was established as a passion project, inspired by autonomy and rebellion. We recognize we are all a work in progress, constantly evolving and outgrowing our former selves. As such, we continue to evolve with each creation, piece, and collection. 

We take pride in the fact that our garments are not mass-produced in a factory overseas, but rather handcrafted by skilled artisans in our own community. By supporting local production, we are able to promote sustainability, ethical practices, and the growth of the fashion industry in our own backyard.

FORMER DIRECTOR represents an ode to who you used to be, who you are now, and who you can be – an uncontainable presence inspired by existing.
